Exploring LGBTQ-Friendly Stockholm: A Travel Guide for the LGBTQ Community

Updated: Mar 3

What an amazing week in Stockholm! Thanks to @stockholmlgbt and @visitstockholm for hosting me at the end of November to explore so much of what the Open City has to offer!

Stockholm has proved itself to be a truly open and welcoming vacation destination for everyone including the LGBTQ community. The city offers a wonderful contrast of historic beautiful architecture complemented by the best in modern Scandinavian design. In addition, Stockholm is a vibrant city where innovations in technology (check out Space, a brand new digital and gaming mecca), music, design, fashion, and more.

The city is also pretty easy to navigate thanks to the T- Bana (subway) you can easily get around town. Shop til you drop in the city center or explore Gamla Stan (Old Town) through cobblestoned streets.

Start with a stay at the intimate LGBTQ+ owned luxury boutique hotel @villadagmarsthlm then head over to @bibliotekstan where you will find Stockholm’s upscale fashion and food district.

Have pre-dinner drinks @hellstensglashusrestaurang before heading over to my favorite spot @thehillsstockholm for an amazing dinner! And that's just the first day!

Visiting during the holiday season was a fantastic opportunity to explore the town filled with holiday lights, stops for mulled wine, hot chocolate, and candies. Browse the Christmas markets for beautiful handicrafts, candles, holiday decorations, seasonal Swedish delicacies, and more.

There is so much more to explore in Stockholm and I can’t wait to tell you more about it!
